June 20, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
MAIN EVENT: SHANE MARTIN
Opening Act: Going to the Sun
Presented by Gray Plant Mooty 6:30pm to 9pm
Genre: Country Rock
The title of Shane Martin’s latest album “Keepin’ The Night Alive” sums up how he keeps his music alive and loves what he does: “Livin’ every moment, hangin’ on for life” and play his powerhouse brand of country rock. A Top 5 Finalist in the Texaco Country Showdown where he competed for “Best New Act in Country Music” at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium (hosted by LeAnn Rimes), the Minnesota based singer/songwriter is now up to a breakneck pace of over 175 regional shows per year.
Fronting his full ensemble, Martin has shared the stage with numerous national acts and performed at some of the top country music festivals with his infectious, high energy freewheeling style.
Currently one of the top live draws throughout the Midwest, Shane Martin’s unique country rock vibe is perfectly described by his longtime producer, Emmy Award winning engineer/producer Kenny Royster: “Shane is a great singer/songwriter on the teetering edge of country, pop and rock where it’s just dangerous enough to be fun!
What else is new this week?
Going to the Sun at 5pm
Minneapolis-based Going To The Sun combines the earthiness of acoustic folk instrumentation with the playfulness of electronic pop production into their own brand of earnest, infectious music. The heart of their songs explore universal themes of life and loss, and what one does to ultimately overcome adversity; a mantra for the modern pilgrim set to song. Supporting the release of their debut album (nominated as one of 89.3 The Current’s top local albums of 2014), Going To The Sun makes music that is both powerful and intimate, exploring the depths of the human experience and emerging in celebration with a sense of hope and purpose.
The weekly activities in the Little Georgetown area are very well organized and staffed so your little ones can have a blast! Let the kids burn off some energy by participating in physical activities or arts and crafts each week during Summertime By George! Learn more.
